About Me

I have always loved reading books and writing. Throughout my life, English has always been, and always will be, my favorite subject in school. I always loved writing short stories and narrative writing for assignments. I have been a fan of Rick Riordan’s mythology books for several years now, and the reason why is because they are always inspiring and motivating me to continue to pursue my passion, despite numerous obstacles that might come along the way.

The process of writing an article has always fascinated me, and the most valuable part of it for me is in the interviews. I love getting to know interesting things about people through meaningful conversations. Being a young black woman who is in early in my career as a professional journalist, I think that having these types of conversations will assist me in improving my networking skills and also in establishing purposeful connections with people.

I graduated from CUNY Brooklyn College in May 2020 with my BA in Journalism. I graduated from CUNY Newmark J-School with my MA in Urban Journalism. As a student in J-School, I worked with audio, video, writing and coding/data/interactives. I was a member of the Women in Media Club there as well. I am also a member of the Ida B. Wells Society.
